Plastic can harm the human body

View:1496When it comes to plastic products, we are all familiar with them - the food storage bags, drinking cups, take-out containers, and more that we use every day. However, using these plastic products regularly can potentially "poison" our bodies!
Be cautious! "Microplastic" particles are wreaking havoc on your body.
Plastic products, especially those used in food packaging, release billions of microplastic particles during use, thus "contaminating" the various foods we consume.
The smallest microplastic particles are even smaller than human cells, and some of them cannot be eliminated from the body. They can easily penetrate through the blood vessel walls.
According to a recent study, "microplastic" particles can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and enter the brain within just 2 hours. Furthermore, they can circulate through the bloodstream and reach various organs in the body, causing harm.

They can enter the brain.
They can induce inflammation and disrupt the nervous system, leading to diseases such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's.

They can enter the gastrointestinal tract.
Plastic particles can cause physical damage by rubbing against the walls of organs, leading to symptoms such as diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and abdominal cramps.
They can cross the placental barrier and enter the placenta.
They can be transferred through the mother's gastrointestinal system to the lymphatic circulation and, subsequently, be absorbed by the unborn baby through the placenta, resulting in damage to the fetal nervous system.

The impact of microplastics on human health is often akin to the "boiling frog" scenario, where the long-term hazards it causes are easily overlooked.
So, how can we avoid the harm of this invisible "silent killer" called microplastics?
The key to avoiding microplastic harm is to do this well.
To avoid the harm of microplastics, the most direct approach is to simply avoid using plastic!
While it may be difficult to completely eliminate plastic products from our daily lives, there are a few key points we can strive to follow:
1、Promptly replace plastic bags used for food packaging.
Plastic bags used in supermarkets to package vegetables, fruits, and cooked food can release a significant amount of microplastic particles when they come into prolonged contact with food.
Therefore, it is best to replace these plastic bags with food-safe storage bags or use ceramic and glass containers when you return home.
2、Replace worn-out plastic items in the household promptly.
Plastic cups, plastic lunch boxes, plastic cutting boards, and other plastic items with scratches and wear.(as shown in the figure),It should be discarded because a significant amount of microplastic particles can be released from the worn-out areas.

3、Avoid using plastic bowls when heating food in the microwave.
Microwaving can cause a significant release of microplastic particles from plastic bowls into the food, even when using food-grade plastic bowls.

4、Drink less bottled water and reduce takeaway food consumption.
Bottled water and the plastic used in takeaway containers can easily release a significant amount of microplastic particles when exposed to high temperatures.
If you choose to consume takeaway food, it is recommended to transfer it to glass or ceramic bowls once you arrive home. Similarly, when drinking bottled water, it's best not to leave it in high-temperature environments for extended periods of time.
